The Rev. Cathy Smith-Wenska, MS, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor

Turning Tides Counseling is a private practice that was founded by Reverend Cathy Smith, M.S., LCPC, NCC in January of 2007. For the first year as a limited practice Cathy, the sole owner, was laying the foundation of her business. Turning Tides Counseling uses a holistic style of therapeutic services in order to assist in emotional and spiritual well-being. This practice is designed to use the Traditional Western Eclectic Therapeutic Model combined with Native American Philosophies and Spirituality. The population served is for all ages 8 and above whether it is individual, group, couples and/or family therapy.

At a time when our culture is becoming more and more isolated, one of the heart-warming approaches to Turning Tides is that the practice is located in the home of the sole proprietor. With this natural atmosphere, it allows for the clients to feel more relaxed, fostering positive therapeutic rapport more rapidly during the counseling session. This environment takes away the “institutionalized sense of stigma” that is so often equated with counseling.
